How to Open a Corporate Account in Nigeria

With the numerous competition in the business world today especially for us selling online, the need to prove your genuinity to our potential customers is increasing as most online shoppers fear being scammed and as such always avoid making payment to a personal account. They would later pay to cooperate account. So I want to ask how can one open a corporate or Business account in Nigeria with any bank?

Your observations are true. Customers prefer buying from established brands than the starter brands and one way to show you are serious with business is getting your business registered and open a cooperate bank account for your day to day business transactions.

As you might have guessed from the statement above, the first step to opening a cooperate bank account is to register your business name or company.

No bank in Nigeria will open an account for you with a different name other than your personal name unless the name is fully registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

After registration, walk into any bank of your choice and request for co-operating account opening form. There are other requests such as Tax Identification Number (TIN) which will be obtained from Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
